Bio:

Anne-Marie first came to yoga back in 2003 whilst on an intensive dance course where Ashtanga was introduced as a way of helping dancers connect with their core. Later in life she discovered the subtler benefits of a mindful practice to counteract city life in London.

Following her teacher training in London in 2012 (Hot Power Yoga) Anne-Marie has taught consistently in London, India, Thailand and now Cumbria. Over her time as a teacher she has sought to expand her knowledge and understanding of all areas of yoga; practicing many different styles of yoga asana with some of the world’s best teachers. She is an eternal student, training in yoga therapy and yin yoga as well as heading over to India where she spent time immersing herself in the yogic lifestyle of ashram living, later developing an interest in holistic healing (training in Integrated Healing Massage and Reiki) as well as immersing herself in a daily Ashtanga and vinyasa practice over there. She then travelled to Thailand where she continued teaching and learned more about Thai Yoga Massage. Since returning to the UK at the end of 2016 she has been able to further her interest in anatomy and physiology by becoming a Yoga Bodywork specialist. Most recently, an interest in trauma-sensitive work and healing has led her to train in Forrest-Inspired Yoga, offering intense and challenging sessions with a focus on healing, letting go and moving mindfully.

Anne-Marie teaches Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Yin, Restorative and Forrest-Inspired Yoga. Her classes are progressive and playful as she encourages students to work with their own individual needs in order to not only challenge themselves but also to have fun, let go and relax.
