Yoga and Walking Christmas Retreat

December 6 @ 5:00 pm - December 8 @ 1:00 pm

2 NIGHTS – from £245pp

Join us for a relaxing weekend away at our exclusive guesthouse in the Cumbrian hills, where we’ll rejuvenate during morning and evening yoga sessions. During the day we’ll explore the local area, heading out on easy walks focused on history and wildlife, and of course finding some great views. There’s no better way to relax before the festive season and discover the crisp winter countryside.

We’ll be based at a guesthouse in the eastern Lake District, right on the edge of the Eden Valley, where our walks will take us into the beautiful limestone scenery of the Westmorland Dales. Hatha yoga sessions will focus on stretching tired muscles while improving posture and alignment. Take handy hints away for practice at home over the Christmas period.

To book a place, email carolinedoesyoga@gmail.com for a booking form.

  • Spend the weekend in a small group in the eastern Lake District, taking the time to meet new people, enjoy the quiet of the countryside and refresh yourself before the busy Christmas season begins.
  • Take part in 4 yoga sessions in the mornings and evenings of the weekend, getting you ready for the day and then helping you relax afterwards.
  • Head out on easy guided walks to see the wildlife and history of the area with a local walk leader, where the emphasis is on enjoying nature and getting some fresh air.
  • Enjoy mountain views, sparkling streams and rustic countryside on this winter escape in the north.
  • All meals are provided, from the evening meal on Friday until breakfast on Sunday. And of course there are endless hot drinks!
  • Did we mention there’s a sauna!

Check-in at the guesthouse from 5pm, where you can get settled in with a cup of tea or a glass of mulled wine in front of the fire before the first yoga session starts at 6.30pm. We’ll be serving dinner at 8pm, so let us know if you’re going to be late!

Our day begins at 7.30am with our morning yoga session, followed by breakfast. We’ll aim to leave for our walk at 10am, so there’s plenty of time to get ready and enjoy a few cups of tea before we step outside!

The walk will be decided on the day by our walk leader, depending on the weather and what the group is keen to see. But the idea is to head out for an easy day (5-6 hours) to see the local area, looking for wildlife and discovering historical sites. It definitely won’t be a long slog or a march!

In the afternoon we’ll head back to the guesthouse, get the fire going and grab a drink before the afternoon yoga session at 6pm. Then it’s dinner at around 7.30pm and the evening is yours to have a drink in the lounge, head to the pub, or just have some alone time with a book!

Morning yoga today will be at 8am, and after breakfast it’s time to check-out of the guesthouse. We’ll aim to leave at 10am, and head out for a morning walk to see somewhere different, perhaps the landscape around Lowther Castle or the northern edge of the Howgills. We’ll finish the walk at 1pm where you can join us for a group lunch.
